About Gone Before We Spoke Our Vows

When an elven saintess agrees to marry the man who softened her guarded heart, she uncovers a devastating betrayal: her promised groom is sacrificing her to a deadly ancient curse to save another woman. Scarlett believed Carlos was different, breaking through the protective walls she erected after witnessing her mother’s tragic fate. Instead, she discovers she was never his beloved—only a convenient scapegoat destined to absorb a fatal affliction meant for the noble elf Raven. Shattered yet unyielding, the kickass heroine turns her back on false promises and steps up to fulfill the perilous duty of guarding an eternal seal. With only seven days before the ritual claims her, Scarlett repeatedly offers Carlos silent opportunities to turn back, choose honor, and see the truth. Yet with every passing hour of the relentless countdown, he blindfolds his heart and chooses Raven again. Bound by honor and an ancient oath, Scarlett willingly channels her martial arts and magical prowess into the ultimate sacrifice to keep the realm secure. When the barrier flares and the seal locks forever, the bitter truth is finally laid bare. Left behind in the cold aftermath, Carlos drowns in agonizing remorse and devastating regret, haunted by vows that will never be spoken.
